Sandra Bullock won’t take on the role of the drunk and nasty Miss Hannigan in Will Gluck’s forthcoming Annie remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Negotiations have ended between the Oscar winner and Sony studios, leaving the studio to begin its search from scratch.
Gluck’s contemporary remake of the Tony-winning musical Annie is set to star Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis in the title role, with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx in talks to play Benjamin Stacks, a variation of the character of Daddy Warbucks. The movie is aiming for a 2014 release during the holiday season.
Bullock won an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side. Her additional film and TV credits include Crash, The Proposal, Miss Congeniality, All About Steve, The Lake House, Murder By Numbers, Two Weeks Notice, Hope Floats and 28 Days.
